I'd not like to think that this is censorship but rather an error someplace.

As the person who is one of the people who adminster the VUSN forums, here is the offical answer you are looking for:
You must use your real name (first and last) in order to be accepted into the VUSN fourms. The reason for this is this, we have been getting people into the fourm who have been posting thing non-VUSN or real Navy related (such as sex-site web addresses, casino website addreesses. etc...), and we have been getting some of our VUSN members getting harrassed on the fourm as well.
When a person looks into the forum the website, there is a room called "One MC - Announcement", and there is a note saying " Please read here first before posting".
If anyone thinks this is an attempt to keep people out of the VUSN, it is not, I assure you. This is only becuase of things I have been seeing on our fourms, and I'm doing this to protect those who are a part of the club. All I ask is that you follow the rules, that's it. If you don't, your fourm name will not be allowed access, it's as simple as that

I'll check again, but I was having no problems accessing the forums until this mess with George started. I don't know if this was something that changed around that time or not.

Nope, still no luck. Apparently now I have been removed rather than banned.
I don't think it is an error anymore, it looks like censorship to me.
